The Illness of Vanity and Corruption

Twas an illness-

One of death, destruction, and things that could not be.

But the worst of them all,

Was that terrible vanity.

An illness without pride,

Without purpose, without fall,

And yet, while life was chaos,

A mix of blurred lines and memories forgotten,

One thing remained true amongst them all.

This very plague,

For it was one of the mind,

Took our thoughts, our abilities,

And ingenuity in kind…
